How to Inspect Tiles for Quality Assurance: A Guide for Overseas Builders and Small Projects

Tiles is the most important part for building materials buying from China, as per our experience, inspection before shipping is the most important thing to contal the quality.

Today, this blog post will guide you through the process of how do we do inspection on tiles.

To make sure the tiles are in proper condition before the shipping. Now let us explain to you one by one.

For the first step, we will do visual inspection, such as: color and pattern checking, surface finishing checking and Edge quality checking.

As for color and pattern, we will check carefully and make sure no significant variations.

As for surface finish, we will check and make sure no scratches, chips or unevenness. To make sure the tiles has smooth and uniform finish.

As for Edge Quality, we will make sure the edge’s sharpness and straightness.

ater we will check the measurement. Here we come to 2 things: Size accuracy & Thickness Uniformity.

As for size, we will use tape to check the length and width of the tiles. To make sure the dimensions match the specified measurements.

As for thickness uniformity, we will check the consistency of several tiles, make sure to avoid installation issues.

Then we will do durability test.

We will tap the tiles and listen carefully. Make sure there is no hollow sounds. If there is such sounds, then it may indicate internal cracks or weaknesses.

Then we will check the lablels & batch numbers.

As for labels, make sure that each boxes has the right specific lables. Like mentioning 32KG or 2A3 the label.

As for batch numbers, we will check different batch numbers to make sure they are coming out consistent, why should care about this point, because to ensure the tiles come from the same production line. So they won’t have color or pattern different issues.

Final checking on the quantity and packaging status.

As for quantity, we will count the number of the tiles in each box, then count the number of the boxes to confirm that the quantity matches the order.

Then we will supervise the stacking. Make sure the boxes are stacked well and the packaging looks good. To avoid falling down or damage during transportation.

When the inspection is finished, we will make a detailed report. Mentioning the tiles details. Like quantity, sizes, color and pattern consistency etc.

We will also send you as many inspection picutres and vidoes.
