Steel Rebar Container Loading – On-Site Sourcing Case from Foshan, China
Date: August, 2025
Location: Foshan, China
Category: Loading & Export
Destination: The Philippine
Project Background
A recent client from The Philippine is going to build a big warehouse and just placed an order for high-quality steel rebars and some hardware fittings as well.
As their appointed sourcing and inspection agent, Tanndy Ltd was responsible for entire sourcing process from sourcing, following, inspection to shipping. After 1 month production time, today we are going to oversee the entire loading process – from verifying the container condition to ensuring cargo stability for long-distance sea transport.

Step 1 – Container Arrival & Inspection
The container arrived at the loading site on schedule.
Before any goods are loaded, we conduct a thorough inspection of the container to ensure it is in proper condition. Our checks include:
- Verify the container number to confirm the driver has brought the correct unit.
- Verify the seal number to confirm it’s the right one from shipping company which will match the customs & ship.
- Inspect the exterior for any visible damage or holes.
- Examine the interior, ensuring the walls and floor are dry, clean, and undamaged.
- Close the doors from inside to check for any light penetration, which would indicate small holes.
By following these steps, we ensure the container is correct, clean, and dry – preventing cargo contamination and ensuring safety throughout shipment.
Step 2 – Material Verification
Although the rebars had already undergone a quality inspection in advance, we still performed a quick check before loading them today.
- Verify the item categories to ensure no products are missing.
- Measure the diameter and length of the rebars to confirm they meet the specifications stated in the order.
- Count the total quantity to ensure nothing is short.
- Check the bundle markings – clear markings make it easier to identify the goods later.
By carrying out these steps, we ensure that all goods fully match the client’s requirements before shipment.
Step 3 – Loading Process
Since the rebars are extremely heavy, they must be loaded using forklifts, with manual alignment to ensure a perfect and safe arrangement. Here’s how we proceed:
- Check the weight and length of each item before loading, and create a layout plan.
- Place the heaviest items at the bottom to maintain stability.
- Align each bundle straight for uniform stacking.
- Minimize excessive gaps to maximize container space efficiency.
- Protect the binding wires to prevent damage during handling and transit.
By following these steps, we ensure safe, efficient, and secure loading for shipment.
Step 4 – Securing the Cargo
Once loaded, we will check the bundles were tightly stacked and won’t shift during transit.
We will use additional steel bars as blocking and bracing to make sure the structure is firm inside the container. Make sure nothing will fall down or shaking.
Step 5 – Final Inspection & Sealing
Once all was loaded, then we will do a final walkthrough to make sure the loading stability.
Then we will seal the container with a custom security seal.
Then we will prepare the shipping documents for the freight forwarder.

Why This Matters
For loading export goods, especially heavy industrial steel rebars, professional loading supervision is essential to ensure:
- Maximum use of container space for cost efficiency.
- Balanced weight distribution during transit by truck or ship to maintain stability.
- Safe arrival without deformation or corrosion of the goods.
- Smooth and accurate documentation for customs clearance and the shipping company.
By following these principles, we will make sure both safety and efficiency for the entire shipping process.
